Kindergarten children are immersed in Reading and Math! The Reading program used is Journeys. It gives the student a wonderful opportunity to become readers teaching decoding skills, sight word recognition and writing skills. In addition a reading specialist trained in Fundations pushes into the classroom 3 x each week for additional support. I am pleased to announce we are using Eureka Math! It is a totally hands on program which requires the children to engage in deeper understanding of the math content. I have seen the drastic improvement in the understanding of concepts taught in the 2 years we have been using it! We also provide a Math specialist to push in 3 x week to help with small group instruction,! Our program includes Social Studies, Science (including labs) and most importantly a daily Religion lesson. All of this support makes our students well rounded Christian learners with skills to go forward! I am so proud of what our 5 and 6 year olds are accomplishing!
