Kindergarten at Maria Regina blends the play and social interaction of Early Childhood programs with challenging academics.
In Kindergarten, the ELA curriculum focuses on letter sounds, blending sounds to form words, sight words and writing skills. We explore different types of literature and authors.
Our Math program is a fantastic hands-on program which leads the children to a deeper understanding of numbers, shapes, measurement, addition, and subtraction.
Religion is taught on a daily basis as well as being integrated into the social and emotional growth aspect of our day. We learn about God’s love in our lives, our faith community, lives of the saints as well as religious holidays. Kindergarten students attend First Friday masses as well as all prayer services.
In Science, we cover topics such as weather, animals, seasons, plants, health, and magnets just to name a few. We take a hands-on approach to learn about our topics.
Our Social Studies Curriculum includes Community, Presidents, American holidays and Holidays around the World.
Kindergarten participates in the following specials: STEM, Phys. Ed., Art, Music, Technology and Art. Our students have their own tablets which we use with I-Ready, a supportive Math and Reading program. They also receive Academic Intervention Services (AIS) 5 times each week to support our Reading and Math programs. Kindergarten has the privilege to perform the Nativity Pageant at Christmas time in front of their families!
We have not forgotten the importance of socialization for our 5 year olds! We have play time in centers, have fun on our playground and frequently take brain breaks with movement activities!!
"Maria Regina has become the foundation of our family’s education. It has centered us all to a life of learning, service to our community, and further nurturing our faith in Christ and his teachings. Both of our sons have attended their Kindergarten program which nurtured and developed their love of learning, curiosity, and furthered their ability to learn site words, mathematics and desire to read. Our children have learned through play, use of music, and guided instruction by a variety of educators. This program fostered development which has kept us thriving and continues our success as the boys are now entering 5th and 2nd grade alike."

Kindergarten has extracurricular activities that will bring them together with our older elementary students (for example, LEGO Club is Kindergarten up to grade 5) and they eat lunch with Grades 1-4 daily. There are also prayer services and First Friday Masses on a monthly basis that brings Kindergarten together with our Grades 1-8 community to celebrate and grow in our faith.
Payments are typically made over ten months (August-May). We do have our own internal tuition assistance/scholarship program that allows us to help support our families. We recognize that Catholic Education is an investment and we do what we can to help our families as much as we can.
Our Kindergarten students wear our Gym uniform only, which is available through Flynn O’Hara. They wear the traditional uniform beginning in 1st grade.
We have an in-parish rate that is offered to all families that contribute to any Catholic Parish–not necessarily Maria Regina. We have a form that you would submit to your rectory to complete and then return.
We only offer full-day Kindergarten.
