This year's Day of Giving will focus on a menu of various projects instead of one major project, as in past years. We look forward to being able to tackle multiple projects to benefit our students.
"Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver." - 2 Corinthians 9:6-7
We are forever grateful for our amazing families and the generosity that has been shown to us over our last several fundraising campaigns. During last year's Day of Giving we raised just over $32,000, which was the 6th most of all Catholic Schools across the nation, to help create a Media Center/Makerspace. During this past October's Royal Run we raised over $50,000 in support of the school and our students. For Day of Giving 2023, we are setting a very ambitious goal of $35,000. While considering where this year's efforts would be most needed, we noted that there are a few projects that would benefit our students and community. Unlike the last two years where we identified one larger project, this year will be focused on a menu of smaller projects.
We hope to raise $10,000 each for A/V upgrades in the auditorium, upgrades to our Science materials, equipment, and facilities, and finally, the installation of bottler filler water fountains to replace all the current units we have. Additionally, we hope to dedicate the remaining goal to the investment of a Middle School sports program, so that our students can represent Maria Regina and shine on athletic fields and arenas, as they do in so many other ways.
With the student-led prayer services, assemblies, and amazing musical performances in recent years, we hope to update the audio/visual capabilities of the space, so that we can all appreciate those performances even more. Modernizing our science room facilities and upgrading our materials and equipment to match the already excellent instruction will benefit our students immensely. Our award-winning Aquinas program has been working hard the last two years to promote recycling, conservation, and environmental awareness. Installing bottle filler water fountains will help us conserve and be good stewards of the earth, reducing the amount of plastic water bottles we consume. If we happen to raise funds in excess of our goal, additional projects would include the completion of the Smartboard updates (four Specials classrooms remaining), as well as a fund to help subsidize field trip costs.
Our families have come through for us in a huge way over the last several fundraisers and we have no doubt that you will come through for us again this year. As always, we can only achieve this goal through the enormous generosity and grace of our Maria Regina families and friends. We thank you for your continued generosity. God Bless!
