Phys. Ed
Students from Nursery through grade 8 receive Physical Education.  Various sport units are taught such as soccer, football, hockey, basketball, and baseball using the Sport Education model. Students learn all aspects of the sport and the skills involved by immersion.  Sport-specific exercises are focused on throughout these units.  Younger classes learn specific skills of each sport such as throwing, catching, kicking, striking, jumping, leaping, etc.  We will be focusing on Fitness and Wellness throughout the school year, using the Fitnessgram test, in which students will be able to assess and track their own levels of fitness.  Students will also participate in an Adventure Activities unit, where students will learn various life skills, social skills, and group dynamics, and will be able to carry that information with them for the rest of their lives in order to live a healthy life physically, emotionally, and socially.  Furthermore, this course will reinforce Catholic values through sport values like respect, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
